Birth Plans

“Birth plans are the options you have within the birth method.”

The links below invite you to explore ways in which you can make any birth method meaningful and really honor the life of your baby.  We call these our “Birth Planning Pages”; they lead to preparation suggestions, things to consider, links to resources like your SBD doulas, and then they include the specific birth plans themselves that we offer here.

Facts:

Mothers who experience pregnancy & infant loss are at risk of developing postpartum major depression. The risk of this depression is highest within the first six months after birth.

The mothers who are at greatest risk of becoming depressed are those who fail to show any signs of grief during the first two weeks after the birth (source).

Experiencing pregnancy & infant loss in a way that demonstrates the reality of your baby’s life, and death, is actually important to your postpartum health.
