Spread The Word
One of the most important ways of getting involved and helping to break the silence around loss is simply to tell your community about stillbirthday. We provide many ways for you to do this:
-Print our free materials listed below, or view them together in the Local Representative Portfolio:
Places that would be helpful to spread the word about stillbirthday include hospitals (maternity units/floors), birth centers, midwives, grief counselors, churches, and funeral homes.
- Tell your doctor about our birth & bereavement training! There is a printable resource you can take with you at the training registration page.
- Medical Offices **including Obstetrical and Midwifery Professionals, Ultrasound Facilities, Maternity Care Coordinators
- Emergency Room **
- windshield cards (possibly for OBGYN or hospital parking lots, or to tuck into a card)
- Favorite Places (fillable resource list)
- poster (with 5 tabs to cut)

- Neighborhood Door Hangers
If you are going to use neighborhood promotional items, it’s a great idea if you have a community bulletin or newsletter, to let your community know ahead of time first, that you are wanting to share with them a resource that you found valuable, so that they can have time to communicate with you and refuse your item beforehand, which you should always respect. The most effective communication tool truly is sharing your story with others – with birth professionals, pastors, and loved ones, and inviting them to learn more because of what you have learned and experienced. It is a gentler approach to them and because of this, often has a less protective or defensive response than receiving a printed item unexpectedly. Still, these resources are available to you here based on your discretion and as an opportunity to reach others with the message that families need to be supported during birth in any trimester.
