Any person or family impacted by pregnancy and infant loss, and those who love us, are invited to attend. Historically, individuals and families travel statewide and beyond to attend our annual Hearts Release events. This is a warm, inviting, comfortable event with plenty of space for you to come as you are. We’ll be able to meet new people and have an important connection. Sierra Pearl Photography, the extraordinary professional photographer, will also be there. If you want to make even more of a weekend of it, feel welcome to stay one or two nights at the Spring House Inn, where we will have cozy meeting rooms for chatting and a bonfire circle in the evenings. Call them to place your reservation and mention stillbirthday for special savings.

My daughter is wanting to have more of an active role in the Hearts Release event, so we’re introducing ideas this year that she has thought of – the weekend is her idea, as a time for moms and families to connect more. She is envisioning us entering into the waters to release the Hearts, so you might plan on packing a towel and something you can wade into the water in.

Feel welcome to join our primary facebook page, Hearts Release fb page, and our 2024 Hearts Release event page (we’ll make one soon).
We’ve added a feature here where you can share your beloved babies’ names.  You also can share on either of our facebook pages.

Please prove you are human by selecting the heart.

She was a genius of sadness, immersing herself in it, separating its numerous strands, appreciating its subtle nuances. She was a prism through which sadness could be divided into its infinite spectrum.

    — Jonathan Safran Foer, Everything Is Illuminated

No one ever told me that grief felt so like fear.

    — C.S. Lewis, A Grief Observed

    I am strong.

    — January, founder of Birth Without Fear

When someone you love dies, and you’re not expecting it, you don’t lose her all at once; you lose her in pieces over a long time—the way the mail stops coming, and her scent fades from the pillows and even from the clothes in her closet and drawers. Gradually, you accumulate the parts of her that are gone. Just when the day comes—when there’s a particular missing part that overwhelms you with the feeling that she’s gone, forever—there comes another day, and another specifically missing part.

    — John Irving, A Prayer for Owen Meany

They say time heals all wounds, but that presumes the source of the grief is finite.

    — Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Prince
